ตอนนี้เข้าหน้าร้อนแล้วนะคะ เมืองไทยเรานี่ก็ร้อนสุดๆเลยทีเดียว ความร้อนระดับนี้บอกได้เลยว่าเล่นน้ำเทศกาลสงกรานต์ก็ไม่หายร้อนแน่นอน ทุกวันนี้ทำงานไปตัวก็ละลายไปเหมือนกับสำนวนที่ว่า "ทำงานอาบเหงื่อต่างน้ำ" อาบตั้งแต่ออกจากบ้านมาทำงาน จนเลิกงานกลับบ้านก็ยังอาบอยู่เลยค่ะ

เข้าเรื่องเลยดีกว่า โจทย์คราวนี้ต้องทำชุดให้น้องค่ะ น้องต้องใส่ไปงานปัจฉิมฯของคณะที่มหาวิทยาลัย ซึ่งก็กำหนดว่าต้องเป็นชุดสีขาว น้องมีแบบในใจส่งมาให้ดู เป็นชุดน่ารักๆแบบคุณนู๊คุณหนู ซึ่งก็บังเอิ๊นบังเอิญมีผ้าลูกไม้สีขาวที่ซื้อมาวางเฝ้าสตูที่ทำงาน ชุดเลยเพิ่มจากคุณหนูเป็นคุณหนูลูกผู้ดีสุดๆ  :p   น้องขอมาเราก็ต้องจัดให้ค่ะ จัดแจงวัดไซส์น้องเรียบร้อยก็ขึ้นตัวอย่างก่อนเลย

ยังจำโพส ต้นแบบ เมื่อเดือนกุมภาพันธ์ที่แล้วได้มั้ยคะ เราสร้างแบบแพทเทินจากต้นแบบตัวนั้นเพราะน้องขนาดเท่าๆกับต้นแบบที่ทำ ตัดรอบแรกลองดูกับผ้าอื่นก่อน เป็นผ้าที่ได้มาจาก IKEA ลวดลายสีสันตามสไตล์สวีเดนซึ่งตัดออกมาแล้วเหมาะใส่ในหน้าร้อนอย่างนี้มากๆ และค่อยตัดผ้าจริงอีกที ชุดทั้งสองนี้สุดท้ายดูแตกต่างกันพอสมควร แตกต่างขนาดไหนลองเปรียบเทียบดูนะคะ <3

Dress with IKEA printed fabric as muslin

Hello there!!! Forget about spring because it is time for summer, very summer!!! It is too hot that I sweat like melted candle while working in my studio. My air-con was broken and just got new one installed few days ago. Thank to those who invented air-con!

Anyway, today I want to show my latest dress(es) I made. It was for my cousin. She asked me if I could make a dress for her to wear to one of her university event. The color theme of this event was white so I decided to use my cotton lace fabric I purchased almost a year ago for her. It has been sitting around my studio for too long, I'm glad it is finally made into something nice and beautiful.

When I got her measurement, it was perfect with the block sloper I made so I started from there. Since it was for my lovely cousin, I wanted this dress to be perfect on her so I decided to make a muslin first. Instead of normal muslin that will be thrown away after, I wanted it to be used later as a casual dress. I cut my muslin in this thin IKEA printed cotton fabric, the outcome was a perfect summer dress but a bit tight at waist on my cousin when she tried it on. (Please, ignore the grey plastic thing behind my dress form. Forgot to remove it when I took the picture.)

After minor adjustment for her waist, adding more dramatic cascade, cut the lining, assembled everything together and made back waist bow-tie, the result was amazingly cute!!! When she wore it with her pearl headband and nude heels, it definitely turned her into an IVY league girl!!!
